Life lesson x: trust

LOLOLOLZ *journal whore* I just like writing here. I feel so relaaaaaaaaxed as opposed to on dA... where I find myself feeling self-conscious about myself because I have so many views, and I don't know what narrow-minded, prudish nutjob will come along and tell me to stfu for being so... me.

I haven't picked up a pencil and paper in a looooooong while... mostly because I'm always on my laptop now, and it's taking up my drawing space. Why is my desktop senile already. ;A;


I NO LONGER HAVE TO SELL SUNGLASSES IN AUGUST. YEEEEEEEEeeeEEEEEeeeey!!! I am so freaking relieved, 'cause I hate encountering that one person who can make your entire day shitty.

I'm not really working for the money. I mean, it's nice that I get paid, but my mom initially wanted me to work so I learn some valuable life lessons about life and people.

...I seriously think my mom wants me to hate the world.



Okay, here:


As always, I 'm given the morning shift even though I'm not a morning person at ALL. On top of that, it's always so cold where I work, since the AC is right overhead. It'd be blazing hot weather outside and i'd be wearing a hoodie in the mall. And so I'm going around cleaning oily fingerprints off the lenses while this orange lady (seriously, I think she could be a whole new race) is looking around with a Starbucks coffee in one hand.

So inevitably, she drops the pair she was just trying on and it breaks. Mind you, that's never happened before even though I've probably dropped all of them at least once. I really didn't know what to do, but here is roughly how it went:

me: "uhh you gotta pay for those"
her: "what, but it was an accident"
me: "well that's not my fault. we have a youbreakityoubuyit policy."
her: "do you have that written anywhere?
me: "no, (you dolt) every store has that policy"
her: "I'm not paying for a broken pair of sunglasses! I mean I'm really sorry, if it's scratched maybe, but I can't even wear these. It was an accident and I'm really sorry. Is there anything I can do to make it better?"
me: "(yeah, fucking pay for them) you could buy a pair of sunglasses"
her: "what's the difference?"
me: "um. They're not broken?"
her: "I'm not paying $13 for a pair of sunglasses"
me: "(THEN WHAT THE FUCK WERE YOU DOING HERE IN THE FIRST PLACE) ...you know, I just work here. I'm probably going to get into trouble for this (this was a lie, my boss is very forgiving)"

And so you see that I guilt-tripped her into staying and looking for a while, but then:


her: "you know what, I gtg pick up my daughter; I'll come back and buy 2 pairs -- I wouldn't want you getting into trouble"


Okay, here, you see that I am naive. I was touched by her proposition that I actually let her go off. And of course, she never came back. She probably doesn't even have a daughter, let alone a spouse. She was fucking ORANGE, for heaven's sakes.


So I was really down the whole day, and quite a bit traumatized. I felt so... so... violated. I mean, if you're just gunna go, you don't have to lie to me about it so I get my hopes up and be confused about how to feel. If you're going to do that, give me a chance to hate your guts freely. I HATE being deceived and confused.

I called my boss like 5 hours later and told him about it, and he told me not to worry about it after badmouthing that cunt. It did make me feel a lot better, having told someone, but JEEZ I felt so DUMB, especially after telling JC about it afterwards... OTL Apparently I could have called security for it, and that thought did NOT occur to me in the slightest. uffffffffffffffffffffffffffff.

Well, life lesson x learned: don't trust anyone unless they give you good reason to trust them.




It's sad that I needed to even learn this.

It's sad that this is even a life lesson.
